How To Get Rid of Your IBS

When I get clients who have been told that they have IBS and think it's a diagnosis for life, it makes me sad.

Because it absolutely isn't!

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is exactly that - a syndrome. It's a collection of symptoms (diarrhoea, constipation, gas, bloating, abdominal pain), but it will always have a root cause.

So, what could be causing your IBS?

Food allergies

  • Food intolerances

  • An imbalance in the different bacteria species in your gut (aka your microbiome)

  • Parasites or infections in your gut

  • Leaky gut (gaps in your gut wall where food particles can seep through and cause an immune reaction)

  • Chronic stress

The difference between a healthy gut lining and a leaky gut lining.

How can Nutritional Therapy help you get rid of your IBS?

The first step is finding out your specific root cause or causes.

Next, we work together over a period of about 12 weeks to create and implement a bespoke protocol to address these root causes and heal your gut.

The process looks like this...

  1. We carry out comprehensive stool testing which tells me exactly what's going on inside your gut, and which of the above root causes are behind your symptoms

  2. We use a gut healing approach to support your gut wall and lining (this is vital to protect your immune system)

  3. We rebalance your bacterial ecosystem (microbiome) with specific foods, prebiotics, and probiotics specific to you

  4. We might need to eliminate some gut-irritating foods, and add in some gut nourishing foods

  5. We might need to use some natural antimicrobials to get rid of any harmful gut bacteria, infections, or parasites (think nature's antibiotics)

  6. We reintroduce foods that previously caused you trouble

If you have IBS and you're ready for it to stop impacting your life, book in a free chat with me to ask your questions, and find out more about how I can support you.
